Alaska Waters offers wildlife viewing from large observation decks overlooking two waterfalls, 35 miles southeast of Wrangell. Observe the unspoiled scenery of Stikine River which is fed by over 20 glaciers, and has the largest springtime concentration of Bald Eagles in North America. During summer, view spawning salmon which also attract feeding bears, eagles, and seals.
Scenic excursions also include exploring the Chief Shakes Glacier where one can see granite cliffs hundreds of feet high. Or take a relaxing afternoon to visit the natural hot springs found along the river.
Historical tours include visiting Telegraph Creek, a historic village that flourished during the Klondike and Atlin Gold Rushes. Or stay in a turn of the century Hudson's Bay Trading Post.
