Alaska Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve
Established in 1982 to protect and perpetuate the bald eagle species and their habitat, the Alaska Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve encompasses 48,000 acres (19,420 ha) of land along the Chilkat, Kleheni, and Tsirku Rivers. Visitors can observe the eagles between Miles 18 and 24 along the Haines Highway.
